Welcome to our office! We are very pleased that you are considering entrusting your child’s dental care to us. Our goal is to ensure a relaxed experience for both you and your child. From the first tooth to first grade and well beyond, we are here to provide you and your child with the care and service you deserve. Everyone in our office is trained and ready to meet the unique dental and emotional needs of your child. We understand that they are not merely little adults.
We will make every attempt to make your visit fun and enjoyable. We also respect your time and the demands of busy families. Do not expect to spend excessive time in the waiting room. Just don’t be too surprised if when the appointment is over, your child isn’t quite “ready” to leave yet. They often want to linger to watch a little more of the movie that’s playing, play one more video game, or pay one more visit to the turtles in our private garden.
When you’re in our office, we promise to be more than dental providers. Our kid-focused office is wise enough to walk parents through challenging dental situations, while eager to get down on your child’s level to make a new friend. We’ll make you and your child feel at home while providing the most current and latest treatments. Come visit Drs. Gormley and Gutierrez and see why we’re kid experts!
Dr. Gormley has been caring for smiles at this location for over 30 years. One of the most rewarding parts of being here this long is watching her patients grow and seeing them return as parents and entrusting the care of their children to her. She chose pediatric dentistry as her specialty because children are her first love and that has never changed. She loves providing dental care in a child friendly environment where her patients feel comfortable and families feel welcomed and appreciated. She graduated from Baker University with a BS in Biology and attended dental school at University of Missouri Kansas City. Her Pediatric Dental Residency was at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC where she served as chief resident. She returned to Kansas City where she practiced and taught at UMKC Dental School. She came here to join her husband who was stationed at Fort Bliss as an Army Physician. Her childhood was spent living in many locations as a member of an Air Force family and was happy to finally settle here to raise her family and call New Mexico home.
Professionally she has worked hard to serve our community. Dr. Gormley strives to stay current on approaches aimed at prevention of cavities as well as new non invasive treatment options. She was the founding president of the New Mexico Pediatric Dental Association in 2001 and has served as an officer almost every year since. She was nominated to the New Mexico Medicaid Advisory Board and participated in the Southern New Mexico Cleft Palate Clinic as well. She was also asked to be a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s national Education and Publications committee. Her research was selected as required reading for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry’s reading list for their national exam and she was a coauthor on a Pediatric Basics guide that was published by Gerber. Dr. Gormley served several years on NMSU’s Board of Advocates for the College of Education as well as many other charitable organizations in the Las Cruces area.
